Our highest capacity, most seaworthy hull, yet fast for its size. Very specialized for long trips or rough water. Safe enough for beginners, but usually preferred by experts.
Hull Features
- A blunt, reinforced bow point sustains frontal impacts providing enhanced protection in dangerous waters.
- Outward-flared gunwales near the bow deflects spray. In Aramid with wood gunwales there is some hour glass contour in the gunwale line for paddling ease.
- An "asymetrical" hull with more fulness behind the centerline than in front of it. This counters the sterns natural tendency to ride deeper than the bow in shallow water.
- Standard trim is of the highest, aircraft grade, marine anodized 6061-T6 aluminum.
- High sides (16") to achieve exceptional volume and dryness.
- Hull widens quickly from the bow back, providing a very stable canoe with very high capacity; but the hull is carefully shaped to part water gently, not violently.
- A high bow (22") protects paddlers and gear from large waves even when heavily loaded.
- A graceful bow curve that helps lift and guide over obstructions.
- Ver slight rocker enhances maneuverability without sacrificing tracking, speed or paddling ease.
- The broad-bottomed, shallow-arched hull retains good fulness throughout the length of the canoe ensuring excellent initial and final stability.
